Team Beech (Beech Mountain Ski/Snowboard Team) began as a 501-C non-profit corporation in 1991 to provide
the North Carolina High Country with educational and charitable activities in alpine ski racing and snowboarding.
Team Beech goal is to make it possible for every interested young athlete, regardless of economic background, to
take advantage of the programs offered by its competitive ski and snowboard teams.
Team Beech strives to:
- assist participants to progress athletically, socially, and educationally;
- strengthen athletes' self esteem;
- encourage respect for others; and
- promote good sportsmanship.
Athletes are prepared for local, regional, and national events through BMSEF's affiliation with the United States Ski
and Snowboard Association (USSA) and the Southern Alpine Racing Association (SARA).
In order to achieve its goals, BMSEF relies on fundraising efforts, community assistance, and volunteers.
